Owolabi was born and bred in Asheville, North Carolina. Son to a PhD marketing professor and social worker for the county government, he claims "My personal style tends to be adapted for the professional world-- however my stylistic influences have a broad range of cultural aesthetics and social themes." Much of Owolabi's personal creative brand Mon Jean-Pierre Clothing reveals the ancient Ankara print of the West African tribe known as the Yoruba, of whom his parents directly descend. "I can style for any and all occasions whether your pallet beckons more earth tones, soft pastels, or vibrant spectrum colors, I create a vision for you because I care about how you want to be portrayed."
